Dear god post-grunge was awful. I call it Iraq war core. Fun fact: the lead singer of this is Aaron Lewis, a noxious chud who wrote a miserable song called "Am I the Only One" a few years back.

Ska was at least happy jumpy music, pop punk, while not much better, was a bit more interesting as a scene.

Post grunge was just void of all the interest or meaning grunge had. All it had left was vague white anger and whiny misogyny.
