Screenshot of a Facebook post which says: This was literally mailed to me [redacted] knowing our neighborhood, we're fairly certain it was a neighbor. don't care WHAT your beliefs, political stance, religious beliefs are... you do not threaten ANYONE... especially like this... over a MAGA flag. So we posted in our neighborhood group. "To ANY one that thinks this is funny.. You have an issue, SHOW your face. Come talk to me. Threaterning a COMBAT VETERAN & a family with young children? Absolutely DISGUSTING. And I thought being called a Nazi by our neighbor was bad. HA! Funny how it's anonymous."

I didn't get a screenshot of the "statement" from town officials...which is somehow worse than the screenshot above. Edit: found it, posted in comments

Screenshot of Facebook post by the Town Council where the story in the OP came from. It reads: By now, most residents are familiar with the anonymous letter and the disgusting, cowardice content of the letter sent to [redacted] in response to a "political"' banner displayed on the private property of the resident. The Town Council [redacted] unanimously condemns the actions of the anonymous writer and/or sender of the letter. The Town Council [redacted] unanimously supports the expression of FREE SPEECH afforded to us all in the US Constitution, affirmed by the Town [redacted] Home Rule Charter. The Town Council [redacted] completely and unanimously supports any and all efforts of the Postal Inspector, [redacted] Police Department, and the [redacted] County District Attorney's office in investigating all crimes committed in this serious and intentionally threatening means of curbing the rights of the [redacted] resident as we would for ALL residents, no matter what side of any issue a resident chooses to stand. The Town Council [redacted] implores all residents and visitors [redacted] to not be afraid of FREE SPEECH and to respect our FREEDOM by equally respecting those who disagree with us.
