Also late, buy same. It feels like a lot of the communities as a whole have a problem with engagement.

    For me is I don’t fully understand the notifications very much, like I’m only now seeing this apparently

    Notifications can be pretty rough depending what app you're using. On Jerboa, you have to manually go to the messages tab to find out if you have any waiting.

    I also think the federated aspect makes it harder since most people would prefer to have a private alt account for something like this.

    I don't want my primary on here but having some anonymity give me more freedom since this is a public server.
