Matthew says he hanged himself, Luke (in Acts) says he...bought a field and burst open in it.

Acts 1 18:

"With the payment he received for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out"

Doesn't change your point really I just think it's a fun inconsistency to think about. One option so much weirder than the other.
