What's the fundamental difference between Fediverse/ActivityPub/Lemmy and the Usenet? (feddit.de)

After reading a bit about Usenet, it seems to me as if the whole Fediverse seems to be just a reinvention of Usenet.

What's the big difference?

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !cat@lemmy.world
