It appears Trump is going to be the next president of US. I'm not sure such a thread is needed in the first place, but here goes.

Feeling anxious? Desperate? Got the expected result?

Mmm indeed. Would it be because harris offered them literally nothing in policies? And spent her campaign attacking students? Not directly mind you. Lets hope elections still matter in 4 years. Sigh i need to decide how im going to spend my time dealing with this.

Good lord lady. Next time listen. Well im looking forward to the punching left thats going to be coming. Or will we blame black men? Latino men? Oh well anyone but the candidate i guess.

    Yup rather not show up and let dude with volatile polices come in and do his thing. That's the crazy part is these people didn't even vote third party in protest. They just didn't care. So I guess climate change, trans and abortion right don't matter to 20 million dem voters.

    Harris' campaign didnt offer them anything worth voting for. And many states already have portections on the books for abortion and those that dont have ballot measures that are likely going to pass. Oops!

    Democrats wouldn't even hear a simple call to have Harris stop mass murdering and you thought people would show up for her because of issues that dont impact them? A call that would have likely handed them at least Wisconsin.

    Sure states have it but this should be protected and it was. Now having a miscarriage may have murder charges.

    What's he gonna take away next? Well that's a non issue for 20 million people apparently. I know Harris was not going to take anything away.

    Florida didn't pass. Missouri did. I don't know others. So don't be pregnant in Florida I guess.

    Yes, and did Florida have any chance of going blue? No? Oh maybe harris shouldn't have placed her bets on abortion putting her on top.

    Did Michigan go blue? No? Oh maybe we shouldn't have been allowing harris to shit on the arab community.

    Did Pennsylvania go blue? No? Oh maybe harris should have had a concrete policy positions like breaking up monopolies and passing laws on corporate greed.

    If you look at Harris platform everything is pro corporate policy and none of it is for working Americans then add in bleeding arab support etc. oi. It adds up to a death from 1000 cuts.

    100% agree with top 3 points and even the corpo crap the dems are. And I will always say f the dems but NEVER before the GOP.

    The amount of damage from denying climate change is not even comparable to any bad policy that could be mention about Harris. There is literally no more snow on Mt.Fuji ! Better to have someone that may fix something here and there than someone that will actively destroy it.

    No one said you needed to support gop over trump. Or that it was even a good option of you were contemplating it. It was always 'harris is blowing this'.

    You were never going to convince people to show up for her just because trump bad. Just because you made that decision doesnt mean other people will.

    But her behavior along with many supporting her telling people they're russian bots, to sit down and shut up, vote for lesser evil, etc. lets them tune out and just focus on things that bring them joy.... Funny that. To bad harris failed to do that.

    That's really where we disagree and the crux on why so many people didn't show up.

    People thought the same in 2016, f the DNC and just let w/e happen. we see the result of that indifference.

    I get others may have washed their hands of it and feel "it's not my problem that someone else let a drunk person drive" but Doing nothing when you had a choice to stop it is the same as letting it happen. It's not 2016, people cant pretend everything out his mouth is BS anymore.

    not stopping bad something is ok when you had a choice because the alternative is meh? I mean 15 million people seem to agree with that.

    I dk what biden did in 2020 that really moved them. I thought it was never the trumpers that were impacted by his polices but obviously I'm wrong here.

    you dont get to judge other peoples reasons for not supporting your preferred candidate. your job is to pressure your candidates to do the right thing. which democrats absolute didn't do.

    DNC may never do the right thing but GOP will do the wrong thing. I don't care if the DNC wins. I want the GOP to lose and not take away the rights that people fought for long before I entered this country. Maybe I don't get to judge but I bet those women that died and thier familes do. Just like I think those in Palestine have the right to judge DNC for the ineptitude. And now I'll pray they are not slaughtered under trumps watch. I believe that is empathy.

    Daily show ran her stuff regularly. Sure, No one cared about her 82 page policy book. Or her talks about how she was going to improve tax credits for lower class and increase tax for $400k+ people.

    But i agree, I don't get it. In the end Harris didn't need to inspire vote for her because Trump sure inspired me to not let him win. Biden sure did not inspire me either but for some reason he got 15 mil more votes. I thought his nomination was hard BS at the time.

    Daily show was not who she needed to reach. this is why you don't rely to ad buys to mobilize voters. sigh. you werent the person she needed to get to vote. you were always willing to vote for her. oops.

    No, not a miracle, people on the left explicitly warned everyone 4 years ago biden would have their support for one term. To the point he even committed to it before immediately walking it back post election. Biden is a proxy for his policies not the person specifically. Swapping out w/ harris and no change in positions wasnt acceptable either.

    The dems have been underestimating the left wing population for decades despite repeatedly hitting the hornets nest and losing.

    Hopefully you'll remember this election. The dynamics were very similar.

    People like myself were pissed and had to deal with peoples lesser evil nonsense. When biden won the primary due to warren/bernie split ticket. We were very explicit about it (all during the tail end of the primary) which is what led biden to that statement.

    Biden was forced out due to two factors: No left wing support (dont break strikes, commit genocide's joe). And no corporate support. (Because of the wonder kid khan)

    Harris then tried to cater to the corporate douches and genocide joes. You all found out as a result what we've been telling you you.

    It turns out the talking point of "voting 3rd party is a vote for Trump" that has been repeated for months does have the desired effect of disenfranchisement, the assumption that they would then vote Democrat is something I never understood.

    Turns out 15 million people didn't even vote third party. Just stayed home.

    All that back and forth was just to keep the GOP out of power and not have a so called dictator day 1. Not sure how that specifically disenfranchised potential dem voters. Cause they weren't going to vote dem anyways. I could list other stuff that certainly could have.
