Back in my drinking days (I've been sober for almost 2 years) that was "A solid start." And if I got that deep, I was sure to finish the rest of the 750 ml bottle just for the fuck of it, and probably have some sambuca or jungle juice, to finish up, and I probably would have started with at least two pints of beer.
