Compress a large percentage of the world’s wealth into a small fraction of the population and suddenly 150k dollars a year, to potentially more based on the danger, seems worth it to some people.

You act like that's not a ridiculous amount of money and that just shows why things are as bad as they are
Oh it’s a lot of money but with how many ways you can go about making that kind of money I can’t see how risking your life on those odds is worth it.
