A better way to get the metaphor across would have been the guillotine blade be labeled Spez instead.

The way it was made caused some people think it was saying "death to Spez" and not "death to reddit"

I admit I didn’t interpret it correctly then, if the metaphor that you describe is the intention.

Still I think it’s pretty easy to interpret it the wrong way without the adjustments you described.
