The Chinese people will always remember Kissinger's historic contribution to the normalization of China-US relations, Wang said.

China is still vulnerable to actions taken by the US. Even if you ignore the US's influence over world food supplies, the US military is still a major threat. Furthermore, today's globalised economy is fragile in many ways. Any misstep or failure point could trigger massive chaos. Remember how at the start of the Ukraine war, many countries were pushed toward extreme food insecurity?
