Pre-pandemic preppers tend to be associated with an irrational fear of “doomsday”, while those who stocked up on vital goods during the pandemic have been (often unfairly) portrayed as hoarders. Well in The Last of Us he/they got depicted in a very positive way, I think. Not only in having his stuff ready (that was the least shown), but in knowledge how to survive (knowing where the main gas cutoff is, what to salvage, how to keep batteries, how to tend a garden). That episode (E3 I think) is the one I liked most.
