The Plain of Jars. Thousands of giant stone jars on a plateau in Laos. Many contain bodies. No one is entirely sure who built them or why.

Just got a message from DriveThru - Atomic Ninja, the publisher of Dead End, One-Shot Wonders, and other Savage Worlds material is shutting down.

Apparently we have until May 23rd to download stuff from DriveThru, after which it will disappear.

For land environments, I can't think of any that have been unused, but for aquatic adventures there are a few possibilities:

  • Coral Reefs - a whole maze full of creatures
  • Sargasso Sea - Vast mats of impassible plants containing wrecks, hidden islands, etc.
  • Deep-sea vents - the closest thing we have to an alien environment on earth..

For a character creation game jam, I decided to make a character for Dark Conspiracy, the 1999 action/horror game from GDW.

I had hoped a fillable character sheet was already available, but I was disappointed.

So I've made my own fillable version, available to download here: https://polyhedralnonsense.com/2026/05/05/character-sheet-for-dark-conspiracy/

If you were interested in the DC system and setting, I'd recommend the https://www.darkconspiracytherpg.info/ Dark Conspiracy fan site.

I wanted a fairly clean SW sheet for an upcoming pulp one-shot.

  • It's fillable, including adding a character image.
  • Extra space for the Edges, so I can list their effects.
  • It has a table tent for the second page

Still a WIP, but I'll post the PDF when it's done.

Con Report for TravellerCon/USA (polyhedralnonsense.com)

A quick con report for last weekend's Travellercon/USA

TLDR: I had a lot of fun, great games, wish there had been more people there.

TravellerCon USA 2025 is coming this October 24-26th. It's at the Double Tree hotel in Lancaster, PA.

I missed last year, but I'm definitely going to run something this year.

As far as I know, docking is generally just a simple Pilot roll.

If you're interested at getting a feel for the current version of Traveller, I'd recommend their Explorer version - only $1.00 on DriveThru: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/380244/traveller-explorer-s-edition

You can also try look at the free release of the old 1981 version: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/355200/classic-traveller-facsimile-edition

For my Mongoose 2E campaign, I made my own custom GM screen, with only the stuff I found myself needing on a regular basis. It's 3 landscape pages, designed to be put in a customizable GM screen.

You can download a PDF copy, and the original Affinity files I created it with, here: https://polyhedralnonsense.com/2025/10/09/a-custom-gm-screen-for-traveller/

Zozer recently released a version of their Kosmos 68 setting for Classic Traveller. It's based entirely on old Soviet sci-fi. The new version used the same page design and style as the original LBBs.

I've made a modified version of my Classic Traveller sheets to match this setting. They're fillable and free to download

Just joined this. It's underway now, and finishes up on August 25th.
