- The Wages of Fear and the William Friedkin remake of it Sorcerer
- Sorry to Bother You
- A lot of spaghetti westerns have left/class revolution themes to them, but I'll specifically recommend Sergio Leone's under talked about Duck, You Sucker aka A Fistful of Dynamite
- Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion
- Thief
- Alien and Aliens
- Blue Collar

Sorry, but I fucking hate Baz Lurhman as a director. Everything is so obnoxious and trying hard to sell itself as profound, in a way that comes off as very cynical way. His Great Gatsby adaptation feels like a technicolor vomit pastiche of the actual story. He retells literary works like a 8th grader trying to sound cool
"and then Gatsby and drives his cool car real fast through the city while a Kanye track plays. It'd be so awesome, dude"
I hate when assholes try to act like Shaun being Br*tish is reason enough to disregard his (correct) takes, as if he isn't obviously very well read and knowledgeable. Lindsay Ellis did this same shit, yelling at Shaun when, close to the election, he was saying something bad about Biden, and Ellis acted like he was doing some evil thing and shouldn't be commenting since he wasn't American. As if the US and its policies don't hold hegemonic control over the entire world.
Reminds me of when that fucking soy-faced franchise novelization writer hack, Chuck Wingdings or whatever, tried to get internet archive shut down for being a free library.
