The last couple of lines has me thinking this is satirical/sarcasm:

"...Following his embarrassing slip-up in February, Sutter vowed that he works “differently now” and is ready to immediately “distrust” anything an AI says" and "...when we pasted his latest piece for Nautilus into AI detecting tool Pangram — which is far from perfect — it informed us that 56 percent of the text appeared to be written by an AI".

Genuinely what of the damage to our parents generation? They are susceptible to dangers and manipulation and other dangers on social media. If we all agree that social media is probably a bit shit - shit enough that we should protect children from its harm - then why should we not enact some protections for everyone else too?

You are in a fortunate position - you can make stuff available (this is nice and generous) while hardly having to upload anything. Consider joining a private tracker that gives you credit for TIME seeded, not Gigabytes of seeded material. Then just keep the stuff you download in the download folder for a long time before moving it/deleting it.

TIL that the draconian and authoritarian response to criticism of the Israel genocide on Palestine is called "Operation Recomply, led by Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command".

TBF, all our rivers brown lumps in them, so the enshitification is nothing new. I stopped paying my water bill in December - I am in a fortunate position to not give a fuck about the consequences but I really wish there was more of a French-style reaction to getting bummed by our political leaders in the UK.

Weird that the UK admits that it provided targeting information from the spy base in Cyprus to "help locate hostages held by Hamas" but doesn't consider, or admit that this information has the dual benefit of facilitating the annihilation of schools, hospitals, healthcare workers, press, UN, aid workers, civilians by Israel. They know exactly what they did - the Brits did it because they support Israel's right to flatten it's neighbours.
