    I don't know anything about Battlestar Galactica, except that it's a series I was never interested in as it just looks like a never ending war similar to Star Wars, which I was also mildly interested in for the same reason.

    But after having a quick look at the wikipedia article - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlestar_Galactica

    You are probably right, it should be Mormonism ... I never knew that series was partially influenced by an actual real world religion.

    The original series in the 1970s leaned more into Mormon cosmology. The more recent version didn't do that as much, so it's harder to tell.

    Thinking on this, DS9 as Islam works chronologically, but it's more like Heaven's Gate or Jonestown practically.

    I went into LD not really expecting much but I ended up loving it. I love how much it feels to be still in universe while also being a totally different type of show to anything we've had in trek before.
