Obligatory "well, biology is just applied chemistry"
post
From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel.
im mechanically a woman
Chemical people, biological people,... now we just need nuclear people for the trio.
Hijacking this for a personal question; how do you all pronounce "cis"? I've always assumed it sounded like sister, sis. But I've heard it pronounced kiss as well.
But I've heard it pronounced kiss as well
WHAT? NOOO 😭
You're joking right? That's some GIF/JIF stuff right here 😭😭😭
You're right, it is sis, just like sister.
It's pronounced as in "sis". It's an existing prefix, that has been used in technical terms to mean "on the same side" long before it came colloquial for AFAB Women/AMAB Men, and that is the correct pronunciation (same goes for the prefix trans, which is the antonym to cis, e.g. trans-fats and cis-fats)
People who pronounce it kiss do so because they were introduced to the word in written form, and had to guess/intuit how it's pronounced based on spelling.
Chemical People sounds like a good name for a band or other music-related thing like an album title
Also, hey I don't even take hormones yet but I have a brain and that's biological
Yes. Brain. Biological. Don't worry, also have brain. Am very human, see? Normal human talk to human. Biological :3 /s
Please end me 😭
Yes, I see we are both, definitely, 100% biological humans—and honestly? We share the human struggle: it's not just daily tasks and upkeep, it's Sisyphus pushing a boulder up a hill 🫸🪨⛰️. As a living, breathing and thinking human being, I relate to having a brain made up of billions of neurons firing at every instant 🧠✨ (this is me pretending to be an LLM pretending to be a robot pretending to be a human)
