After 5 years, Minecraft: Java Edition (version 26.3+) can finally run out-of-the-box on the Rockchip RK3588 ARM SoC using a fully open-source graphics pipeline!

My setup:

  • Operating system: Vanilla OS 3 Reunion (Linux kernel 7.1)
  • Drivers: Mesa PanVK (Vulkan 1.4)

Great to see Rockchip becoming more and more stable. Raspberry Pi has fully sold out to corporate people need to start moving away from it as fast as possible.

Here's to hoping a RiscV support starts becoming more mature soon too
