Hate to say it, but it's beyond old news at this point. Schools and teachers have been getting crunched by shortfalls and outright sabotaged, going back to Bush Jr, or maybe earlier. The wealthy grifters have two basic goals as I understand it: 1) produce a base of less-educated, more ignorant, right-leaning voters to help sustain the grift, and 2) to obliterate public schooling such that (just like the scammy for-profit prison system) education in future is privatized.

And I'm probably leaving something out, too. Maybe AI services replacing traditional teachers, par exemple.
