Are they finally realizing that Hydrogen isn't the future for consumers? And that with oil price volatility always so unpredictable, that hybrids aren't actually a solution, but just a bandage?

Can't forget Honda not just shooting themselves in the foot, but blowing their feet entirely off, by abandoning their new EV models less than a year from launch right before attacking Iran drove gas prices through the roof worldwide.

    Not sure how much you can blame Toyota for their hydrogen focus. The Japanese government is pushing that (beyond just automotive) and naturally Japanese car manufacturers follow.

    I still blame them, it's not just Japan. They opened a new "Hydrogen HQ" in California in 2024.

    The first Hydrogen station in the US opened in Washington, D.C. in 2004... and there are still only 52 public Hydrogen stations in the entire US. 50 of them in CA, 1 in HI, and 1 in WA. Notice DC is missing from that list, because it's at the DOE. There have been talks about expansions into the Pacific Northwest, Texas, etc. for over a decade with little progress.

    Meanwhile the Tesla Supercharger network wasn't even started until 2012, yet now has over 2,500 stations in the US, and there are multiple other nationwide EV charging networks with hundreds or thousands of their own charging stations like ChargePoint, Blink, EVgo, etc.

    I wish they didn't try to replace all dashboards with screens (and put them on the passenger' side as well it seems?).
