Why would people switch to this rather than the well established LibreOffice, which is also European and open source?

Not throwing shade, just wondering.

    One shouldn’t. It’s based on Russian OnlyOffice and uses proprietary document formats.

    Use LibreOffice.

    Yeah they make it sound like it's an EU project or something, but it's just a bunch of private companies banding together to fork OnlyOffice.

    Use LibreOffice, or if you need an alternative to Microsoft Whatever 365 and Google Drive rather than just offline tools, use Nextcloud or something else that suits you (owncloud infinite scale for better performance but fewer features I think?)

    While Euro-Office champions European independence, it has been under scrutiny over its ties.

    The software is based on the code of OnlyOffice, an open-source productivity suite owned by the Latvia-registered company, Ascensio System SIA, whose roots trace back to Russia.
