Of course it's a very desperate measure but it's still real in countries where abortion is criminalized (like mine). There are illegal clinics, but that's for those who can pay for it.

"While Jesus closes the hospital doors, Mary Magdalene dies from hemorrhaging in a filthy bathroom in the slums"

It was real. Women would show up in ERs all the time trying it. Babys would be found in bathrooms and dumpsters every week it seemed like.

It's one argument I don't hear enough. All that horribleness stopped almost overnight after the Roe v Wade decision. People don't think about going back that when they want to ban abortion. It needs to be mentioned more.

Maybe for the uneducated folks, but the anti abortion propaganda really spreads that abortion is basically just as bad as that. They make it seem like child murder, so to them it's like arguing that if you don't allow child murder, people will murder children.

I think the core is still that we need to educate people what abortion is, how their propaganda is wrong and also that these laws are causing "pro-life" women to risk death now due to dangerous pregnancies.

Yes its basically an attempt at a D&C by the untrained and resourceless. Stick it up destroy and remove the fetus. Very dangerous without proper training or equipment.
