In short:

Elena Rybakina has won her third major title, beating two-time champion Aryna Sabalenka in a three-set US Open final at Flushing Meadows. 

Rybakina won a record pay cheque of $7.67 million, adding the US Open crown to the Australian Open title she won in January, also beating Sabalenka. 

Although Sabalenka won the second set to force a decider, she was frustrated all match and smashed her racquet soon after shaking hands with Rybakina at the end.
