Hi, I am still pretty new to brewing and have been brewing beer with a BIAB setup and a regular 25 liter steel pot. During mashing, I have a problem with the wort soaking up into the mash bag, over the edge of the pot, collecting at the edges of the bag where it will then drip down.

Because I'm brewing on my kitchen table (using a portable induction stove), it gets my tablecloth wet and smelling of malt sugars. It was even more pronounced than usual in tonight's (my 4th) brew, getting my tablecloth so wet that I had to pull it out to prevent it soaking through to the table. And of course possibly the worst part is that the stove gets all sticky, meaning I have to wipe it with a damp towel before boiling to prevent burning, requiring moving the pot full of wort around.

I can't think of a good reason as to why this would be so much worse now than before, unless the grain bill could significantly influence this effect, or maybe I just placed the bag in the pot somehow differently this time around. Has anyone else run into this problem before, and if so, how have you solved or mitigated it?
