I wish outlets would stop perpetuating the bullshit unemployment metric and instead use 'Functional Unemployemnt' becuase that's at a whopping 25%. That is to say 1 in 4 people are not paid a living wage and are effectively below the poverty line.

    It's not just AI...this shit has been going on for a long time. It's H1Bs, it's losing healthcare, it's not having savings, it's not having a safety net. We are slaves to our employers because finding a another job, even before the orange pedo shit his pants everywhere, was a lot of work and for potentially just a raise that should have come with your previous one. Being unemployed for the majority of us in the US is a few months of bills paid or a single ER visit to homelessness.
