That board and solution remind me a class I had in college on differential equations where after a lot of work from our professor everything started to cancel out and finish with a small elegant solution. After that I asked him how he knows it was a "third degree" equation when there were nothing at the third power on the original problem. He looked at the board and the and the problem and the facepalm and was like "why did you wait until I finished to asking that?" And remade the example in like 3 minutes and 2 lines of solving.

That's awesome. I remember profs coming into the lecture hall, walking straight up to the board and just talking facing the board and writing equations for an hour and a half straight. Ugh. Tenure must be nice.

I did really well in college and miss all the validation I had from my professors and the other students.

There was this other time were I called my professor in the middle of a test because one variable that in all homework was 100 was 1000 on the test and asked him to please call the attention of that change to the other students because I knew people will fail from this and I felt it was unfair and he was like nobody is so stupid to fail from that but ok and told everyone about it. After the test everyone was thanking me because they didn't notice the change on the variable. And then, when I receive my test I saw that answer failed and then given the point and the professor confess to the class that he used the wrong variable value on his own test and only noticed it after checking my test and thinking there's no was Driving Crooner would fail this.

  • Makes sense - the purpose of the universe is nothing.

Which just proves we should all be having more meaningless sex.
