Lyrically, this may be the best of the lot. This one goes out to everyone who lost their father (or either parent) and felt like they left some things unsaid. It's not the anniversary, but I lost my father to cancer over 24 years ago. I've lived longer since than I did when he was alive, and I'm not far from the age he was when he passed.
One of my life's greatest lessons is that the adults when we were kids didn't know everything, and weren't perfect, and didn't deserve the pedestals we built for them. They were just trying to get through each day like we are.
