I think a ban is okay for the time being, with an opportunity for reversal once things settle down in the relatively new world-changing technology of social media and propaganda. Soon (another twenty years?) tech will have matured and be working for societies again, instead of amassing wealth for warlords and oligarchs. Unless we all destroy ourselves, or are destroyed before that can happen.
