    A friend told me this was rooted in classism. Basically they used to use spices, but when their exploitation flooded the market with cheap spices it became available to the lower class, and that turned the perception into a bad thing.

Ukrainian volksturm: Yells at babushka for having soviet flag, pisses on dead corpses and posts cringe edgelord shit. Releases rapists and murderers to use as meat shield and don't care about casualties, about to get encircled in Donbas.
