    EDIT: $100 of that difference comes from Win11 requiring an SSD upgrade from 512GB to 1TB

    Man, I thought, the whole point of the more limited OEM license (can't move to another PC; can't easily reinstall on same PC) was that the OEMs would get it for cheaper than a proper license.

    Now you're telling me, if someone gets their Windows license through an OEM, they have to pay $100+ extra for a worse product?

    I enjoy how the news isn't "Microsoft increases prices", no, the news is "Microsoft increases prices more than usual". And the article doesn't even try to explain why they increase prices every year.

    Is it to compensate for inflation? Or just the yearly increase in greed?
