I swear it was 2 yellows
Football / Soccer / Calcio / Futebol / Fußball
Would love to know what was said
Wait it was a straight red? Was it given by VAR then? Taylor definitely held up a yellow first
But so braindead by Dunk wtf are you doing dude
I don't know man. I too think that Anthony Taylor is a fucking bellend
A red for you then!
I too hate Anthony Taylor though.
Once you get the yellow it’s time to shut up and move on. I was glad to see it happen and hope we see it happen to more players.
Anthony Taylor deserves every bit of abuse he gets.
Oh just fuck off. He's a professional trying to do a very hard job, where no matter what he does he's gonna cop a load of abuse from whatever group of fans/players his decisions go against.
People like you moan that refs are shit, yet are happy to abuse them, without realising that the ridiculous level of abuse directed at refs is a huge reason why refs aren't better.
NBC stated during the game that he was charged with verbal abuse and would miss two games., instead of just one. Was only listening as I was driving so I don’t have more information
Forest fan here. Love how us and the Brighton fans joined together to chant “Anthony Taylor you’re shit every week” every once in a while despite how hostile the game seemed to be
Why didn't he try the "I said it to the air" defense?
It means he will now face a three-match ban rather than one and the Mail reports his language towards referee Anthony Taylor was 'personally abusive'
Personally abusive? I'm guessing he was asking if a hair pull is a red card offence? Or if he's certain that he should be awarding a penalty, considering the one he gave for Newcastle against Wolves was a complete error. Or if he's come to terms with the fact he will never be given a European final again following last season's Europa Conference final.
To be honest, Taylor is one of the worst refs in the league. He would probably take personal offence to Dunk asking him if he was sure, considering how arrogant and clueless he seems to be half the time. I look forward to him being fucked off to the championship for another week.
face a three-match ban
I don't think that's right. Van Dijk only got an extra game for "personally abusive" language, so I'd bet Dunk gets the same.
Crazy that it hasn't happened in so long, especially with what you can lipread and know is being said. If referees were much stricter on dissent at the top level it would have a huge benefit at all levels of the game. It would be tough for a few weeks with probably a lot of red cards, but teams and players would soon adapt.
There was an instance in 2016 where Vardy swore at the ref after getting a second yellow for a dive - got his suspension extended by a game. So not strictly the same straight red as in Dunk's case, but a very similar case of abusing a ref leading to a suspension.
Didn’t Webb literally just say this should happen more? Not reds, but punishments for going after the referee? Maybe this referee listened.
Didn't they change the rules for this season? There's been loads of yellows for talking back at refs. I double checked they did.
If referees were much stricter on dissent at the top level it would have a huge benefit at all levels of the game.
Tbf the FA have tried this on the managers and everyone here got fucking LIVID lmao
Tried that in the 2018 World cup with "grappling" in the penalty area. Couple of games with 2-3 penalties each and....no more rule. Football has no appetite for multiple drastic punishments, even short term. Football is a stupid, capitalist behemoth.
No one posted it here yesterday for some reason
Only “top 6” clubs get any attention here
Imagine that, the clubs with more supporters get more upvotes on posts pertaining to them. The injustice!
What a profound comment
Taking the piss for my comment after what you commented. Hilarious.
Brighton highlights never make it in here 😭
Who cares 🤷🏽♂️
I think we need transcripts of what a player says to officials to warrant a red or yellow card. It'll be the only way players alter how they speak to refs as they will be concerned about their image and brand.
have you seen f1? expletives definitely does not alter image and brand. in fact, the people love it, because you know, much more relatable!
I think it would in relation to dealing with officials. All the F1 expletives are between team members rather than to officials.
I've got no problem with players swearing at each other at all because like you said its more relatable and its real life.
Using F1 as an example if Toto started swearing at the race director after THE final race last season with the horrendous decision with the safety car I feel like he would be in trouble.
Technically it’s not slander if it’s true. And I’m hearing he called Taylor a bellend…
Fuck me, why does 2011 sound less far back and less scarier than "12 years ago."
Here's another one for you. We are closer to 2050 than we are to 1990.
This one is for the 90s kids
At this moment in time, the year 1990 is almost 34 years ago.
While in the year 1990, the year 1970 was 20 years back.
Wait do you mean first straight red in 12 years or first red card for referee abuse in 12 years?
Mourinho was right.
Anthony Taylor, who would have guessed
I think every supporter from every club can agree, Anthony Taylor is a fucking bellend.
Next up Rdz- Officials are fucking bellend!!
Should be more of them, normal dissent should always be a yellow and a red if whatever is said is really offensive.
Dunk to Roma?
The officials deserve it
lol the amount of people here defending dunk is funny
Didn’t mitrovic abuse a referee last season?
Brighton still leading the PGMOL table
Anthony Taylor loves his name in headlines Awful referee, Dunk probably asked where he gets his haircut
Not the first time this nonce has abused someone
anthony taylor the gift that keeps giving
But to be fair, Taylor is a fucking bellend. The defence rests, m'lud.
games gone
