Hi everybody. Apple Watch SE2 owner here. Ever since i started training muay thai one month ago my vo2 max and cardio recovery have dropped from above average to below average(I am 21). It doesn’t make any sense to me because my vo2 max has always been above average and should be even higher since I started training muay thai. Even before starting muay thai I was pretty active individual(4,5 gym sessions a week, above 10000 steps everday). I don’t wear my watch during muay thai training and I put it immediately on after training so maybe that has something to do with it. Any type of help would be appriciated, thanks.

I’d look at VO2Max on the watch for entertainment value and move on.

the watch is only going to spit out vo2max estimates for >20 minute outdoor walks/runs/hikes that meet the eligibility requirements it wants (namely, relatively flat elevation during those activities), so i'm not sure how relevant any estimates you're getting are going to be if you're not doing a lot of those activities.

the watch is, of course, incapable of giving you an actual vo2max measurement anyway, since it can't measure oxygen consumption. and even properly measured in a lab with an oxygen mask, it's not a particularly useful performance metric.
