Is the MacBook Pro 2018 worth it today? (alien.top)

For work reasons, I need to get a MacBook to continue working on a new task where I am, I found one for 500 dollars and delivering as payment my equipment a 2017 Dell is left at 300 dollars. The main use I will give it is merely for office and programming.

The specifications are as follows: Intel i7-8559U 16 GB RAM 512 SSD 13.3” and a resolution 2560x1600 Battery has 248 cycles

I'm open to recommendations

no. the keyboards are trash and also nowadays intel macbooks are terrible compared to their M chip counterparts. they run extremely hot, bad battery life, and the performance isn’t amazing. i’d recommend finding a good deal on a used M1

Hell no. Bad value for a model that has way too many common and serious issues.

Don't buy it they have pretty common issue of flex gate and keyboard issue. Not gonna recommend. I have seen enough of them damage. And Screen and keyboard replacement is not cheap.
