The religious will never let their religion get in the way when it comes to filling their own pockets.

    Surah 104. Al-Humazah

    Woe to every slanderer backbiter.

Who gathers wealth and counts it over.

Thinking that his wealth has made him immortal.

By no means. He will be thrown into the Crusher.

I know it's basically impossible to say someone isn't in a religion (much to the chagrin of many a devout and reasonable religious person), but this surah is so specifically against this guy in particular.

I'm sorry, explain to me how making money by fooling bigoted assholes is anything except funny as hell? Unethical, sure, but I respect the hustle.

It sounds like you're mad cause you could have fallen for it, given your apparent /r/atheism attitude you're displaying here.

Also, it does sound like he didn't know what was going on with the videos. The onus is still on the bigoted dipshits who gave him an audience.

He's not a bystander though, he is encouraging racist ideas and thoughts. I see spreading hate as a bad thing, and the fact that Alex Jones or this guy got rich off it makes me actually more angry, not impressed by his hustle.

Because it feeds the hatred, purely for money. There is nothing even remotely funny about it. We know the followers of right wing ideologies, be they British white fascists or Pakistani Islamists are stupid and easily fooled, but also potentially violent, and a lot of innocent people are likely to get hurt from them, in part because of the stupid propaganda hate they have consumed.

I'm not sure "devout" is the right adjective. Maybe tack on "self-described" or "incredibly ignorant."

    Definitely self-described at most.

He runs other accounts dedicated to sharing Quran verses and Islamic teachings. One features the Kaaba holy site in Mecca as its profile picture. He uses the title “Hafiz” before his name, an honorific reserved for those who have memorised the entire Quran.

That's a testable assertion that was untested, so using that name for one account while spreading hate on another makes me very disinclined to think "oh these are his real beliefs."

Kind of interesting to see this happening in the UK as well. Similar to all of the Russian bots on Facebook targeting the US.

    He understands it just fine.

Once again Western media reminds me the West doesn't understand belief/religion. It's one or the other. 🤷

So Meta has been pulling this algorithm tactic for years, especially with teens, but now you're mad about a small part of the problem? Well, I suppose it is a step, I admit. I just don't get it, why don't we all just leave Meta?
