Didn't the PS5 boot signing keys leak recently? The word when that happened was that it blew PS5 modding wide open in a way that couldn't be closed without new hardware, though I guess publishing anything that used Sony's key would have their lawyers after you real quick.

If it was on, I assume it is already updated to 5.x which patched the vulnerability. But if it is 4.x then you're in luck.

I doubt it, but if so, maybe you can do UHD Blu-Rays too, since the PS5 can handle those.

This is not even close to the reason that my PS5 has been offline, but it's super neat and probably means we're close to piracy.

He essentially did. He did that one build with one of those ps5 reject boards. Based off that I assumed the ps5 could run standard Linux but I haven't cared about consoles and modding in a very long time.

I would personally try to go for a BC-250 blade setup, less performance but roughly half the cost of a secondhand ps5 (in Aus at least) and still capable of modern gaming

I suppose that also depends on time invested tinkering and sourcing components for the BC-250 like an ssd, enclosure and psu
