It's weird because I've installed Mint on other PCs and Macs and have never seen this problem before (admittedly probably slightly older versions of Mint), which keeps recurring on my machine.

What else does the error message say? Is that the extent of it?

That's it! It's blank after that to the end of the popup...

OK. Unfortunately, I don't use Mint, so I was hoping it would contain more information. I would have to go the same route as you and start searching the web to find answers.

If you copy paste the error message into a search engine, you'll probably get some guidance. Most likely it's something others have experienced.

Thanks, true. Well, a friend actually suggested that I just move to NixOS for ultra privacy; any thoughts?

NixOS is not for beginners. All configuration is with a text file in the terminal. If you aren't comfortable with programming or the terminal, I would not recommend it unless you want to learn the hard way and have help.

Also, there is nothing inherently private about NixOS. You would need to find or curate the right privacy configuration.

Oh, I'm aware of the single file! I've got a mentor, thanks. It's better than Mint in privacy, which is opt-out by default.
