    That was the plot of 'The Defenders" #1

    The villain was dying, so he cast a spell that would destroy the world as soon as he drew his last breath.

    He told the heroes that he was doing it because it would be so sad for the world to go on without his greatness.

    I can absolutely see Donnie beleiving the exact same idea.
