Due to the uncertainty surrounding the image storage issue last month, I haven't been able to update the instance's expense and donations for two months. Now that the issues have been resolved, I think it's time to do so.

The latest financial statement as of July 19 was as follows:

USD ETH XMR
205 0.0145 0.9264

Since July 19, we have received donations of $25, 0.0061 ETH, 0.0734 XMR. I paid $63.5 per month for 3 months (Jul, Aug, Sep) for server. I also paid $33.5 to our old S3 provider and $16 to the new one. The latest status is as follows:

USD ETH XMR
-35 0.0206 0.9594

Unfortunately, the situation doesn't look very promising :) Still, we've had worse days. If you'd like to donate, you can do so here: https://lemmynsfw.com/post/87160

Update

We've received a lot of donations over the past five days. Thanks everyone πŸ™ Here's the final tally:

We received $355 in donations from 17 different donors. I have converted 0.95 XMR to $277 (since we can't really use XMR). In the end, we have $597.

Additionally, we received donations of 0.0035 ETH, 0.0062 ETH, and 0.0475 XMR. We currently have 0.0304 ETH and 0.0565 XMR.

Things weren't looking great when I posted, but we seem to be doing well now.

Keep doing these posts. I threw some money in because of this post. I don't have much, but what I have I share. I followed the Throne link, I don't like crypto (I know it's preferred).

Thank you πŸ™ We used to use a single post for donations. At lemmyposter212's suggestion, we switched to sharing a monthly financial statement. Now, I'll be sharing pinned posts for a few days at the end of each month. I hope this will simplify things.

Whats the preferred method of donation? I assume the all have some sort of overhead so which one would give you the most bang for the donated buck?

The only donations we've been able to consistently get working is crypto, other payment options haven't been very friendly to NSFW related things

What’s a good crypto wallet to use to get started? I’ve not looked at any of this stuff for years tbh.

As lemmyposter212 said, cryptocurrencies are more stable and have lower commissions. However, for those who don't use crypto, throne.com is still a good choice. We've been using this site for over a year and haven't encountered any issues so far.

FYI- I tried to follow that donate link but the web page doesn't load correctly on FF mobile. It looks like it tries to load in desktop mode, and I couldn't get past the acknowledge 18+ popup.

Which client are you using? It works well on Mlem and web UI.

Just wondering if you guys ever thought about opening a subscribestar? I don't mess with cryptocurrency anymore, I think a lot of people don't, and I've never heard of throne.com which makes me nervous, but I know it's hard to find donation platforms that will work with NSFW creators. Believe me I know aha.

Unfortunately, they rejected us. I'm not sure why. Do you have any other suggestions for an alternative?

That's so annoying that they rejected you. The only other services I can think of that still work (Vgen, fanbox) are very clearly aimed at artists which would be kind of awkward, plus they don't have much widespread recognition anyway...

I've just donated via throne. I've stayed away from crypto.... But I fear in the future that might be the only option

I appreciate not everyone can. If you can't give financially, peeps should post some OC, if you build it, they will cum.... And hopefully help build a thriving community 😊

Thank you for hosting and managing! I've just noticed lemmynsfw is no longer serving for the UK. I thought this would be safe from enforcement regarding the OSA! Troubling if smaller services are being pressured as well as the larger ones..
