I fucking hate this state. I don’t know how to leave. I barely make enough to get by decently. I haven’t been able to save money in years, a decade even. I so desperately want to move to Vancouver, Canada, but I don’t have a degree. Seattle is a close second. I’m so sick and fucking tired of this backwards state. I just want to live somewhere where I don’t have to worry about my friends and coworkers getting ICE’d. Somewhere where politicians understand the needs of the population and actively fight against the bullshit all these god damn companies try to pull. Maybe I want too much, but damnit, I’m tired of Texas and all the fucking idiots that live here and have been running this state into the ground for the last three decades.

Check out Oregon. Bend, The Dalles, and Eugene are all nice if Portland isn't your jam.

We need to organize roommate matching for people looking to flee places like Texas. There needs to be a solution for people like you

If you ever get out and want to have any money to your name, do NOT move to Vancouver...

Vancouver is notoriously one of the, if not the - most expensive place/s to live in Canada. The cost of living there was insane even before the housing crisis. It can cost something like $3000 a month for something as small as a 350 Sq foot apartment, and the average monthly living cost for an individual there (not a family) is over $5000. Near vancouver, it's not that great either.

The city also has a pretty rough homelessness and opioid problem, so take that for what you will.

If you find a job that pays like $120,000, then go for it, otherwise it's not so good.

If you want cheaper property/rental prices in Canada, I would probably recommend looking at listings in provinces such as Saskatchewan or Manitoba.

First the crisis in my country and now this? Why do my people have to suffer no matter where they go...?

Jokes on us (assuming you're Venezuelan or any other kind of Latin American), crisis in Venezuela was sponsored by none other than the same country that's detaining them now.
