In lieu of a final 4th season, they're producing a feature length film. Despite the rather saccharine and overly PG vibes, I really enjoyed the vision of a queer teenage life that was actually a life, even despite setbacks like rigid family, mental illness, trans discrimination. I spent most of my teen life at home depressed playing World of Warcraft and struggling to conceptualize what I could even be if I was out of the closet, so in a way it's a cathartic watch.

I need to catch up on the latest seasons. I don't even know where I stopped. But I did so for no good reason, as I did really like the show. They are cute and the show definitely sends a positive message to the world. We need more shows like these.

    I never watched. I feel like there should be shows in the "new adult" category that focus more on gay dating clubbing drama and sex, with less focus on tragedy and high school bs. It's strange to be like an exotic species in the media when irl half of the people I run into are openly queer. I don't mean to judge but the way the book and show are marketed seems strange to me
