I picked up this hinderer eklipse about a week ago. I wasn’t a big fan of the light green color so I dyed it dark purple. What do you guys think? I was also thinking yellow but I figured if I dyed it yellow it would look like a weird banana…

Either way, I’m loving this bad boy :D

Purple is one of my favorite colors, so it always gets a like from me.

Looks great.

Looks nice!

What was the process for dying it?

Do you have an example of what the yellow would look like?

Im glad you like it! The process was very easy to dye it. I got a small pot and filled it with water. Then I put the dye (entire bottle) into the water. I add just a couple small squirts of dish soap to help break the surface tension in the water. Bring the water to a boil and then let simmer. While the water is hot, dunk the scale in it. To hold the scale, I fed a string through the screw holes and held it suspended in the water (I did not let it touch the bottom of the pot). Every thirty seconds or so I pulled it out and ran it under water so I could see the color of it clearly. Keep doing this until it reaches the desired hue. Once its done, just wash it good with soap and water to get excess dye off (the stuff can stain your hands for awhile so you don’t want to get it on yourself/clothing). Then just reassemble the pockie and you’re good to go. I have not dyed anything yellow to show but below is a pic of the exact dye I used, just in yellow color instead of purple. For this dye though, it is important to use the DyeMore version. The regular version does not work as well.

I wanted to upload more than 1 pic of what it was like before but didn’t see an option to do so, so I’ll post it here (second is upside down because I am dumb):

Based on the blood, I'm guessing it's a sharp knife.

It is true that I fucked around. That pic was taken shortly after I found out. But every good blade deserves the taste of blood.

I couldn’t help but flick it open about 1000 times the first night I got it. I put a bit nicer bearings in it and the sound it makes from these bearings is too satisfying for me to leave it alone! But yeah, very sharp. I didn’t feel any pain. Just a small thud and then blood. Tbh, worth it.
