Semantic versioning doesn't stop at 3.9 and goes to 4.0 after you could also have 3.11 and 3.23 for example. The versions are not working like decimal numbers.

Yeah, the dots in SemVer are pretty misleading. They are not a decimal point, just a separator.

Yeah, 4.0 is next and is currently in beta. No 3.9.

Major versions are not required to go up to the last decimal number before upgrading. And yes, 3.8 will be succeeded directly by 4.0

I believe we will get a 3.9 first. This will most likey just be a banner change and some minigames.

It's been a while since I thought about it but BIG new maps have been on .0 .4 and .8 Smaller updates like adding small increments to existing maps (chasm or desert) have been .2 and .6 generally. (including "maps" like the Klee's Mother events like the Apple Archipelago and the current event)

The other release numbers have been minor updates and mini releases/game content.

Why would there be a 3.9? There wasn't a 1.9 or 2.9 so there's no reason they'd feel the need to shoehorn one in before 4.0.

Yes, you are right. But I was playing from 1.0. There was not a 1.7 , 1.8 or a 1.9. So what is your point? You don't think they are feeling the strain of lower revenue globally? (Im sure China income is fine, but TotK release lost them shitloads globally)

And just so you can see the pattern clearly: Version ONE (1.x) was 1.0 - 1.6 Version TWO (2.x) was 2.0 - 2.8 (TWO more releases...)

Maybe you will be lucky and Version 3 will end at 3.8. As revenue wanes, they will shoehorn more shit in as a money grab.

Personally, I think you are being short sighted and probably without aged wisdom.
