Threads won't take off as a Twitter replacement, it doesn't allow any NSFW. A lot of the people I know only use Twitter because it allows NSFW art to be posted.

Fine by me, I'll just follow the Threads users I care to follow from Kbin/Mastodon once they federate, and avoid all the influencers and brands.

I've used it a bit. It's a somewhat meh cross between Instagram and Twitter, as expected.

They jumó at any opportunity that could pay their rent. I bet most of their posts get copy/pasted to a half dozen social media apps/sites. One more isn’t going to change anything.
