A place to talk about roller coasters and parks that have them. Everyone is welcome here to both learn and to celebrate these magnificent machines designed to scare you.

Here are some important resources:

  1. RCDB
  2. Thrill Data
  3. Coast2Coaster
  4. Terminology and Abbreviations

Images are welcome if they are of high quality and it doesn't get out of hand. Please use PostImages to upload your image and then use that link in the URL field of your post (other image sites are permitted but Post Images has the best policies and compatibility).

Some basic rules:

  1. Opinions, theories, and facts are all welcome – but be clear about what you’re saying.

  2. Back up facts with sources as much as possible

  3. No spam or sell-promotion. Linking to your own media or site is permissible only if it’s specifically related to a topic/post that someone else created.

  4. No photos or videos taken on the rides. This is dangerous and shouldn't be encouraged.

  5. Limit political discussion. When discussed it must be park related.

  6. No fictional coasters (models, no limits, planet coaster, etc)

  7. No posting personal information.

  8. No shaming of anyone. We all can continue to learn and not everyone knows everything -- and that's ok.

It doesn't seem like it's technically that crazy of a ride to keep open. Structural problems or what? God bless whatever park gets the first s&s axis lol

I honestly don't think this is strictly a S&S thing. It may be more related to a vendor that they used for this ride. As for what it is I believe it's been a mixture of train issues and structural issues. The trains weren't really an issue until they changed the seat belt locking system per, IIRC, a parques reunidos regulation..... I think those may be taken care of but there's been repeated times that crews have been spotted welding parts of the structure. My hope is that the ride is closed this time to finally fix those issues once and for all but time will tell.

It's been a nightmare of a ride for sure but I don't think it's a direct concern of future S&S installations per se. Max Force hasn't seemed to have anywhere near this level of issues and the free spins and other rides have been pretty reliable.

I'm thankful I got to ride this the first weekend it was open. Seems like it has been plagued ever since that first month.

While I wasn't a huge fan of Kennywood's operations I am excited to go back to the Pittsburgh area and revisit this park.

It was plagued long before opening 😂

Kennywood has really come a long way. I haven't been there this year but last year was such a huge improvement over what the park was just a few years back that it was hard to believe it was the same place.
