I'm planning on spinning up a Jellyfin server, and this is really concerning. Please keep this post updated if you find a solution.
Is there a particular reason this is concerning? I'm all ears and can pass along any feedback.
First of all, thank you so much for being part of Jellyfin, I paid the Plex Pass lifetime thing a few years ago, and Plex has turned into the exact opposite of what I want. I'm going all-in into Jellyfin.
But regarding music:
I listen to music every day on my car, if I can't use Jellyfin with Android auto, I'll have to chose another app for the job. I've found it to be really convenient and safer.
Edit: If there was an equally convenient FOSS alternative to Android Auto I would switch to it in a heartbeat.
OP here. I am only using Jellyfin only for videos, and for that, Fermata is actually a pretty good app to let you access Jellyfin via Android Auto to watch videos.
I am pretty sure Jellyfin AA works as it should (for audio only, which I did not know about) otherwise there would have been lots of posts on Reddit prior to the exodus...
I shouldn't watch videos on my car dashboard. But regarding audio... Jellyfin should work out of the box, why is it not working for you? have you found out the reason why that is happening ?
Because I have no audio content in my Jellyfin server.
Well. That clears things up. Thank you.
