Pine64 (think pinephone, pinetab, SBCs), MinisForum, Slimbook, Tuxedo, etc. If only they were properly run in other areas. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] jaemo@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 years ago (1 child) It's literally the distro that stopped my distro hopping. Manjaro's freaking fantastic. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 years ago (1 child) For me it was my gateway to Endeavour, I had Manjaro set up in a way that satisfied my every need and want. But having to timeshift my system back into a bootable state after a borked update wave every few months was bad enough to kick me out of my complacency, and go looking for something else. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] jaemo@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 years ago* That's relatable pain. So far I've had a stable 5ish years, and only had 2 issues, one being my own tomfoolery with some KDE config, the other being Nvidia, and I don't gotta tell you kids about Nvidia and Linux, regardless of distro... ETA: endeavour looks really slick too, thx for broadening my world. Probably need to justify a wipe of a laptop to try that out. permalink fedilink source parent [–] maniacalmanicmania@aussie.zone 22 points 2 years ago Lower everyone's expectations so that when it performs better than expected it can be racked up as a win? permalink fedilink source parent [–] Namstel@lemmy.one 12 points 2 years ago (3 children) Honest question: why not? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] noodlejetski@lemm.ee 49 points 2 years ago (1 child) https://github.com/arindas/manjarno permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] RealFknNito@lemmy.world 30 points 2 years ago (1 child) Letting their SSL certificates expire that many times is definitely a no-go for me permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] noodlejetski@lemm.ee 16 points 2 years ago just set your clock back! permalink fedilink source parent [–] drwankingstein@lemmy.dbzer0.com 30 points 2 years ago (1 child) Manjaro constantly winds up having really weird issues, they hold packages back in order to make it more stable, but it honestly just broke things far more often then upstream arch did for me. Manjaro and it's community is also riddled with really weird issues. It was pointed out to me a while ago that manjaro did some updates that broke grub customizer, and when people were trying to figure out what broke and how to fix it, Manjaro instead not only removed grub customizer, but made it conflict with the grub they had so people working on trying to fix it got a shovel full of go fuckyourself in the face permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] TheGrandNagus@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent [–] DumbAceDragon@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago Because Garuda exists. permalink fedilink source parent
