Where do I apply? permalink fedilink source hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] 7of9@startrek.website [S] 5 points 2 years ago (3 children) Step 1: find a job in the middle of nowhere. Step 2: move there. Sounds easy, no? To achieve it I moved to another country, learned a new language, took a 50% pay cut, and living here requires a lot more work just to be comfortable ... but I live halfway up a mountain in the middle of a nature reserve, it was worth it for me. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] ratman150@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 years ago (1 child) If I could take a 50% paycut and afford to live that would be a 100% gain. Looks beautiful nonetheless. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] 7of9@startrek.website [S] 4 points 2 years ago Depends on where you are, where you go, and how you live - a lot of the world lives off less than $10USD a day. Before I moved I was getting by, now I'm financially comfortable despite having much less money. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Dumpdog@lemmy.world 1 point 2 years ago Commutes are definitely a quality of life choice! As a kid my dad offered to let me ride my motorcycle to elementary school as a bribe to move to a small town. All the local kids would ride their horses to school so he figured a riding a dirtbike down the trails to school was basically the same thing. permalink fedilink source parent [–] pumpkinseedoil@feddit.de 1 point 2 years ago Which country? permalink fedilink source parent
