Most laptop manufacturers overcharge on RAM and storage as it's one of the main places they actually make a profit. Framework is not immune to this and does it too. But if the prices bother you guess what! Its framework so you can just buy whatever you want. I think of the overcharge as kinda a donation to Framework.
