I started high school two months ago. For christmas my parents want to buy me a macbook mainly for studies but also regular stuff (watching shows, facetime, etc) i dont want to spend too much (my younger brother asks for a lot every christmas). im so overwhelmed cuz idk what type to get ๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ˜ž suggestions?

Get a Macbook Air. Doesn't really matter on m1 or m2. The big thing is to get as much memory(RAM) and storage(SSD size) as you can afford since you can't upgrade later.
