I was gifted an iPhone 15 Pro, delivered yesterday morning, by yesterday evening it was being sent back (Network couldn’t sort out my contract).

But during this time I got to play with it, I was upgrading for an iPhone 11 (normal, not pro) and was so excited for the huge difference, but I just didn’t feel it?!

Do you feel you’ve had a big difference from your previous upgrade? I took the same photo on my 11 and 15th and unless you zoomed in, you couldn’t really see the difference. The sound quality on the 15pro I could hear every breath when recording and I also felt like white colours were ‘too strong’ on the screen making videos/photos feel fake on the 15 pro compared to read on the 11. Are you noticing any of these? Did I just not get to play long enough?

Upgrading from 7 to 11 felt HUGE and I was expecting that again, especially with this being a Pro model.

I mean, since you didnt pay for it what I could cost you to just keep it and use it

I couldn’t keep it, they couldn’t do my number transfer or anything so I’d have 2 contracts running, it has to be sent back because they wouldn’t help.

That’s an American thing right ?

Here in Europe when we get a new phone we just pop out the SIM card and put it in the new phone

No, I’m in the UK 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve been with three for almost 10 years. Hubby brought me the phone contact as a gift, did it on his account.

They can’t switch my number over. Their only solution is me leaving them, paying the cancelation fee and going to another network and THEN porting my number back. It’s so much hassle and extra cost, so as we are within 14 days it’s being sent back.

It may have been better to change providers tbh. I was on O2 on my old phone. Then I decided to get the 15 Pro, but paying for it on contract, myself. Since I was setting it up in my own name, I just decided to change providers too, mainly cos of the price difference. So I was on O2, as I said. I looked at prices elsewhere though, and it ended up being way cheaper on Sky Mobile. Even though every phone before this had been with O2, changing providers was less of a hassle. Yeah, I had to wait 2 days for them to change my number over, but I’ve had less problems since I switched, than I had before. That was a bit of a ramble, I apologise😂

But that guy said that Europe just needs to switch SIM cards.

Try to clap at America lol. We have eSIM motha fucka. We aren’t using a little needle to get out a little card anymore like you. Good try tho

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You’re acting like esim is better when a SIM card is much simpler to transfer between phones. I remember when my mom’s phone died we just took the SIM card out and put it into an older phone as a replacement.

Also we don’t have bs like phones being locked to a specific carrier here because we just use SIM cards

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

It’s only locked if they don’t pay it off. Here we pay the phone off over 2-3 years and it’s added to your bill. Poor people who either fail to make payments try to sell their phone that they don’t own so it’s a pain for them. Rightfully so. Don’t let liberal Reddit determine how America is for you. They come on here because things aren’t going their way and they can find a bunch of other cry babies to cry with. Very cowardly behavior from the libs

Why tf are you linking this to politics ?

Esims are literally more restrictive than normal SIM cards in every way and the only advantage is "oh you don’t have to use the lil metal stick" lmao.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Nah bro. I can literally have a work and personal number on my phone at the same time.

Yeah I went into the store when I picked up my phone but it took 20 mins and my whole family walked out with iPhone 15’s for free after trading in out 13’s that we got for free after trading in our 11’s lol. You guys got carriers that will take your old iPhone and give you a free new one? But you guys got the convenience of swapping a sim haha

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Carrier deals also exist in Europe and that has nothing to do with esim lmao.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

lol ok. Have fun in Europe loser.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

And therefore physical SIM cards are still nice. You just pop it in and it works.
