I agree that this is creepy, but can’t you do the exact same thing with the Find My widget?

sure, but apple already makes the phone. they can already sell this info. Snapchat does it just to be kind to the user!

Most people using FindyMy are family who might have a reason to see your location or to find something of yours. People become friends with people they barely know on Snapchat
